All required libraries come bundled with zzGrid, you will not have to scout around the internet for dependencies. zzGrid is small, its own size is around 12KB (not counting jQuery files that it depends on) or 136KB (with jQueryUI and jQuery dependancies and CSS files). It uses the jQuery UI framework, which means that you can easily change the looks of your grid, installing another theme from jQuery UI website. They have lots of themes, plus you can roll your own.
zzGrid loads data from server via AJAX using the JSON format. The library comes with a server-side example script implemented in PHP. You can also use other server-side languages like ASP, Python, Java, Perl, etc, as well as different data sources like various SQL databases and so on.
zzGrid is compatible with Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+, Chrome. It should be also compatible with other webbrowsers, especially those which share the same browser engine with the tested browsers (such as Safari) and with newer versions of the mentioned browsers. It may be compatible with older versions too, but was not tested with them.
Licensing, putting on your website or intranet
The price includes right to use the control on any number of websites that belong to the buyer.
If you want to use zzGrid on a business website, on any intranet or in any software with HTML interface, you need to buy a license for commercial use. Then you need to edit jquery.ui.zzgrid.min.js, replacing the word evaluation in the following comment at the top of the file by your order number:
zzGrid is free for non-commercial use (only for websites; no intranets or software), see the license.txt file to find out if you are eligible for a free license. If you are, then you need to edit jquery.ui.zzgrid.min.js, replacing the word evaluation in the following comment at the top of the file by your non-commercial website name:
The deployed file jquery.ui.zzgrid.min.js must have either your order number or "free for ..." comment at its top.
zzGrid depends on jQuery UI. At the time of this writing, version 1.7.2 of jQuery UI has been tested with zzGrid.
For the server side you need to be able to create a script to return data in JSON format.
Download the zip file (download link is on the left), unpack it and open help.html file which contains all needed installation instructions. The zip file contains the library, needed dependancies, samples and documentation. If you like the result, order your copy, of if you are eligible for a free license, you can use it for free. If you need support, please see the forum first, and if there are still problems, contact support.
