5.2.3. Options

5.2.3.1. Files & folders are sorted by

You can sort files and folders by a number of criteria, including file name, extension, size, or date, etc. If the column has textual data, such as file name, HTML title, or ID3 song title, then the column is sorted in the accordance with the ASCII standard. Sorting can be either case sensitive or insensitive (for those columns which are sorted based on ASCII order).

Ascending means that the items are output from 0 to 9 and from A to Z. Descending is a reverse to ascending. When ascending is specified, then folders come first. When descending is specified, then files come first.

5.2.3.2. Listing options

Show folder items in listing means if to show the subfolder items in the listing of each folder. This checkbox affects only the appearance of the listing, it is not related to the recursion options.

Show file items in listing means if to show the file items in the listing of each folder. You can turn it off if you need to see only subfolders in the listing. For example, coupled with Recursive size for folders, it can be used to monitor the disk quotas and to find out which folders occupy how much space.

Disk space occupied instead of size. Will show how much space the file actually takes. This can be equal to or greater than the file size because of the way files written to the disk. This option also applies to folders if Recursive size for folders option is set.

Recursive size for folders. If this checkbox is checked, then for each folder the stats are calculated taking into account all its nested descendants (on unlimited levels), if this checkbox is unchecked, then the flat stats are shown. This checkbox doesn't depend on which options are selected in the Recursion Options area on the main screen. Note, the stats are calculated only for those files and folders that pass the filter.

Suppress folders that have no file descendants. If this checkbox is checked then those folders that have no descendant files (have no children or have only nested folders) are not processed. Note, this takes only those files and folders that pass the filter. For example, if a folder contains a single file "file.txt", and the listing includes only "*.html" files, then such folder will have a zero recursive size, and if the checkbox is checked, the folder will not be processed.

File size units. You can select to display size of files either in bytes, KB or MB. "Dynamic" means automatic selection of the unit based on the file size.

File name case. You can convert file names to be all lowercase or all capitals.

Hyperlink filenames. You can add absolute or relative hyperlinks to file names. This is needed if you need to view or play the files right from the listing. Relative links can be used if you put the listing index file to the folder, of which the listing is made, i.e. where other files are located, and then will keep alongside those files. Absolute links are useful in any other situations, for example, when the listing file and the folder are located on the different disks.

Show icons. Turns on/off icons on the listing.

Show folder summary means that summary, consisting of a total number of files, a number of subfolders and a total size of all files in that directory, is printed in the end of the folder listing.

Show summary means that a total number of files, a number of subfolders and a total size of all files of all folders processed, is printed in the end of the listing.

Table mode. If "automatic" is selected, then the browser will calculate the minimal width required to display a column, based on the contents of each column. If there are many columns in the listing, or they are too wide, you need to select one of the "user width" options. In this case the widths set at the Display Columns tab are taken into account.

Show cell borders. Turns on/off the borders on the listing.

Allow text wrap. If this button is unchecked, then the text of the listing columns will not wrap into multiple lines. Note, IE6 must be installed on your system to enforce this setting. Firefox will also display this correctly.

5.2.3.3. HTML Options

You can define the font size, thickness, style, and color, as well as background color for all elements of the listing. To change any value click an according button. For your convenience, colors show their hexadecimal value and fonts are rendered too.
